Zel, the new lifestyle hotel brand backed by tennis superstar Rafael Nadal, will debut its inaugural property on Mallorca on July 1.
Nadal, in partnership with Melia Hotels International, unveiled the Zel concept late last year.
Located five minutes from the Puerto Portals shopping and dining district, the beachfront Zel Mallorca will comprise 165 rooms, including 21 suites.
The property's open-air lobby will be home to a "coffee corner" from Barcelona-born specialty coffee brand Syra Coffee and a signature, beach club-inspired restaurant, Beso Beach Mallorca, created in collaboration with Spanish restaurant group Beso Beach. Offering tables that sit directly on the sand, the Beso Beach Mallorca will specialize in seafood, serving up options like prawns, lobster tails and mussels.
Other highlights will include two pools, one of which will be adults-only, and a spa with three treatment rooms, two Jacuzzis, a steam room and a sauna.
The hotel will also offer guests a curated selection of concerts, excursions and other experiences, including walking and biking routes selected by Nadal.
According to Melia Hotels, the Zel brand is expected to expand to 20 hotels globally over the next five years.
Rates at the Zel Mallorca will start at $288 per night.
