The Ka'anapali Beach Hotel on Maui will soon become an Outrigger property following Outrigger's acquisition of the oceanfront property for an undisclosed sum.

The deal is expected to close on July 26, at which time the property will relaunch as the Outrigger Ka'anapali Beach Resort.

Located along Ka'anapali Beach, the 11-acre hotel comprises 432 rooms and is fresh off a $75 million pandemic-era revamp

That renovation project included updates to the property's 180-room Papaku South Wing and 84-room Kauhale Southeast Wing as well as the addition of Huihui, a beachfront restaurant serving traditional Hawaiian cuisine with a contemporary twist.

Built in 1964, Ka'anapali Beach Hotel is known for its extensive Hawaiian cultural activities for guests.

"We are honored for the opportunity to become stewards of this coveted property," stated Jeff Wagoner, president and CEO of Outrigger Hospitality Group. "Our intention, once the sale is finalized, is to craft a thoughtful plan to further enhance the resort grounds while retaining unique attributes that guests have cherished for years."

Also included in the transaction is sister property The Plantation Inn, located in nearby historic Lahaina Town. The 18-room bed-and-breakfast is an adults-only hotel.  According to Outrigger, no changes are planned for The Plantation Inn following the acquisition.

The Outrigger Ka'anapali Beach Resort and The Plantation Inn will join Outrigger's portfolio of 26 resorts, hotels and vacation condo resorts located across the Hawaiian Islands. The company also has three properties in southern Thailand and a resort in the Maldives.
